This exhibition, entirely dedicated to Bernardo Bertolucci, gathers more than 100 pictures taken from the back-stages of the most important movies of the great Italian director. A fascinating itinerary that goes across the important movies of the past (Prima della rivoluzione, Ultimo tango a Parigi, Novecento) getting through the big productions (The last Emperor, The Sheltering Sky, Little Buddha) to finally arrive at the recent works (Besieged and The dreamers).
The pictures, taken by the set photographers Alessia Bulgari, Angelo Novi and Marilù Parolini, immortalize moments of life on the sets and show the director on-the-job with “his” actors: from Robert De Niro to Marlon Brando, from Jean Louis Trintignant to Stefania Sandrelli, from Gerard Depardieu to Roberto Benigni, from Peter O’Toole to John Malkovich.
